It's also about ethics and sustainability and we're working hard to be both ethical and sustainable. We also believe that organic doesn't have to mean more expensive!
Organic Ideas only retails Soil Association certified organic products 
We've been part of the organic movement and members of the Soil Association for a long time. Over the last few years a lot of brands have entered the organic beauty care and organic gifts markets with products claiming to have 'organic ingredients' but without any certification or using certification from foreign certifiers whose standards are much lower. We are not saying all other certifiers are bad, however we do believe that the only one we can consistently rely on and trust to provide the highest standards and best information is the Soil Association. Soil Association standards mean that you can be sure that you know exactly what percentage of a certified product are organically produced and the rest of the product is water or minerals that are harmless and acceptable. As the new European COSMOS (Cosmetic Organic Standard) standard moves forward we will be monitoring it to ensure it is not a lowest common denominator symbol. If it can be trusted we will also take COSMOS labelled products.
Why Organic Beauty Products are important
Over 50% of what you apply to your skin can be absorbed into the body. Most skin care products contain parabens, artificial fragrances, synthetic dyes, mineral oils or other petroleum based products. Using organic beauty products limits the amount of toxic chemicals your skin will absorb.
